Measuring the Difficulty Based on the One Doing the Work

Picture
Well, the rainy season has come and gone, and even though flooding effected a lot of people here in the valley, we are so grateful for the rain received. Thank you for you prayers!
First of all we would like to thank all of you for all the many ways you bless our lives and the work here in Bolivia. We really appreciate the encouragement we receive from your prayers, messages and support. Thanks again!
One of the things I enjoy thinking about and try to keep in the forefront of my thoughts is the fact that I am a part of a heavenly mission, an eternal purpose and a family business. When Joseph and his family had gone to Jerusalem for the Passover they had misplaced Jesus. They couldn’t find him. During their search which took 3 days,  they found that he was in the Temple listening and learning from  the Teachers of the Law.  Answering his parent’s question regarding the reason for his staying in Jerusalem he said, “Did you not know that I had to be in “things” of my Father?” Whether Jesus was talking about the Temple, learning, debating or answering questions, the point is that He was involved in things that pertain to the Father. This best defines our calling as children of God; full participants of a heavenly, a Godly calling. Paul, comforted by the fact that the church in Philippi was busy in God’s mission wrote:
“Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” Phil 1:3–6.
What a privilege it is to be full partners in God’s mission. Let’s all remember that our Father’s business, His things, His mission is a never ending one. There is always something to do, someone that needs to hear, someone that needs to be served. It is a great thing to be a part of God’s family and it is even more wonderful to realize that we are also a part of His business and He is not finished yet. The glory will always be His!
